When I first met Smigg Dirtee “he changed my life” hahaha (I always tease him about this) we was at the “Yadada Movie” shoot and I was getting a shout out from him on my camcorder. He said “what company are you with?” I said “sydeways” and he said “no your not I know sydeways and your not it” and I said “well we are different” and then he said “yeah!? Well change your name” lol and so within a week I changed my company name to Supa Savy Ent.

Smigg Dirtee a Sacramento native now resides in San deigo. He’s on his grind tough and has many projects in the works. I got the chance to talk to him about the projects coming up and he answered some questions submitted to me from fans.

Me:
Hey smigg dirtee… how are things going with you?
Smigg Dirtee:
Things are wonderful.. duh..

Me:
Lol okay! What’s new? Any new projects in the works?
Smigg Dirtee:
Actually, I’ve never had as many projects in the works before. First off, I got my website http://www.onlikeshit.com where I do a free mixtape series called “My Team Got Work” with myself and other artist I work hands on with, Nov 1st I’ll be doin part two of my daily song series, where I write, record & upload a song a day for 21 days straight, everything is done on the spot from nov 1st – nov 21st, also….. I just teamed up with a power house indie label out of San Diego, and just finished a DJ Skee mixtape together with artist I-Rocc, Dago Braves & El Cajon Tez coming soon called DJ Skee presents “Are We There Yet” and Smigg Dirtee & DJ Skee “Tell Yo Bitch To Come Here” vol1. And then, I just rapped up an album with San Diego producer Dave Moss called “Onlikeshit.com” which feats X-Raided, T-Nutty, Young Droop, Mistah Fab, Doey Rock, Laroo, John Brown, Bleezo, J-Kwon, Mack Twon, I-Rocc, & more. Plus workin on projects for my Teamwork artist Boog & Mack Twon.. done

Me:
Dang! You are on your grind tough! Onlikeshit.com tell me a little more about the website. Is there more than mixtapes? What can people expect on the site?
Smigg Dirtee:
The website will pretty much tell you everything that’s going on with me and the artist I work hands on with, I say “work hands on with” cuz some artist aren’t signed to me but I still put whatever I can in new artist I believe in no matter where they decide to go to pursue their career, such as Young Rebz out of Richmond Ca, and others, but basically http://www.onlikeshit.com will have up new videos, blogs etc, so my supporters can keep up with what’s goin on wit me….

Me:
That’s wats up! My boy had got your last mixtape and said it was the best mixtape out this year so far! That’s big… what can people expect from the up coming mixtapes? And when are they droppin?
Smigg Dirtee:
That’s wassup, they can expect me to TRY to get that same reaction out of everybody who hears these up coming mixtapes and albums, I try to seperate the sound of my mixtapes and albums, so they can always get something different, and grow eachtime, not too different, because its still me but make people not feel like they’re gettin the samething with each project, the DJ Skee mixtapes should both be out before the end of the year..

Me:
when is your next solo droppin? Have you started working on it?
Smigg Dirtee:
“Onlikeshit.com” the album is a solo, but kinda like a compilation, I have a feat. With me on every song, and that should be out by the end of the year aswell, then I’ve started on my main solo album called “Bonita’s Boy” (my mothers name) and I have no idea when its gonna drop, I’m takin my time with this one, cuz my goal is to have it compared to Jay-z’s Blueprint, lol, kinda farfetched but shit, imma try.

Me:
That’s wats up! For the solo/compilation, who can we expect on it?
Smigg Dirtee:
Mostly a lot of artist from Sac, San Diego & the Bay, all places I’ve lived in, I have Laroo, T-Nutty, Brotha Lynch, COS, G Macc, Big June, I-Rocc, Doey Rock, Mistah Fab, T-Nutty, Young Droop, Bleezo, Sav Judah, Devious, Beeda Weeda, J. Stalin, Balance, Guce, John Brown from the White Rapper show, J-Kwon (tipsy), Max B (free max b), Juice Lee, Poodeezy of the Dago Braves, Young Sau, Dubble R, Baby Bandit, Boog and my group The A-Team & I can’t think of whoelse.

Me:
Being a sacramento native, do you have any artists out here that are your favorite or that you slap their music often?
Smigg Dirtee:
There is a lot of Sac artists that I like right now, I fuc with Bueno, G-Macc, Sav Sicc & Bleezo, Flossalini, Lil Retro, my group Sav Tree & a lot others

Me:
Earlier you posted on twitter that you might leak a diss? What’s that about? You’re like one of the only niggas I NEVER hear anyone speak badly upon…
Smigg Dirtee:
yeah, I really don’t have anything anyone can speak bad on me about, unless they are just flat out hatin, id like to believe I’m pretty solid across the board, as for the diss… lol. No comment

Me:
Awwwww! No comment? You sure? Lol
Smigg Dirtee:
Hahaha.. not yet I’ll make sure you get that exclusive when its time tho

Me:
Okay thought id ask! Lol well anyone who does start or is thinking of starting beef with Smigg Dirtee better have their A Game ready cuz you got bars! Lol Any shoutouts? And how can someone contact you for features or hear music?
Smigg Dirtee:
Yeah, shoutout to the suckas, cuz without y’all wed all be real niggas & there would be no way for me to stand out from y’all, shoutout to money hungry ent, Teamwork ent, Shulaced ent, http://www.onlikeshit.com, OnLikeShit Boyz & Girlz Club, & my homeboy Boonie who’s out there in the midwest now, but always has sumthin good to say to keep me motivated to keep doin wut I’m doin and go hard
Oh.. Dirteeboy@gmail.com contact or myspace http://www.myspace.com/smiggdirtee

Me:
Question: Brandon Wilson from Antelope asks: “Is he plannin on making another tonight show an why cant i find the second tonight show ?”
Smigg Dirtee:
Yes I will be doin another tonite show, probably will be doin a few, were also gonna be doin the Bluez Brotherz Tonite show, me and i-rocc. The reason why people can’t find part 2, which to me is waaaaay better than the 1st one, is because its digital only, you can find it on itunes. I was like the first nigga to do a Tonite Show, I think Fab’s came out 1st tho.

Me:
I have another question from @prettiesexi on twitter: “ask him how he feels about the groupie blog” [I posted a blog about groupies on certifiablydefined.blogspot.com]
Smigg Dirtee:
I haven’t seen it, but I don’t see anything wrong with groupies.. my babys mom is a groupie
Me:
Omg! Smigg you a foo! Lol

Me:
Thanx for answering the questions! And thanx for taking the time out to interview with me Smigg! Much appreciated!

Famous the man…

Photobucket

Me:
Faaaammmooouuusss [your voice] Thanx for takin the time out to interview with me! How are you?

Famous:
well im 6ft brown skin and sexy but most of all i am blessed and highly favored

Me:
Hahaha effin famous! You crazy. How’s things in radio?

Famous:
radio is always good. its like school mostly for me because i teach and i get taught…and we even get recess

Me:
What’s recess like? I kno you is funny as hell…

Famous:
well thats a good question…we play, have off campus lunch, brain storm on how to take over the world one ear at a time

Me:
Well you are In the right profession to to so. Who’s your fav artists right now? Locally and mainstream?

Famous:
i dont have a favorite but within mainstream music i tend to listen to Jay-Z, 50 cent, E-40, Kanye, Jeezy, Drake, Eminem and Luda as for locally i am a fan of everyone who has made it on to 80 West Radio hahaha umm but Andy Allo, Jessica Jolia, Jimmy Reign, J.Gib, Simps da fo fif, Bueno, Netta Brielle woooo i could go on lol but i’ll stop right there (done)

Me:
Lol yeah those are some great people you mentioned. Do you have a favorite song to play while on air? You know that makes your day that much better?

Famous:
you know hardly every am i not in a good mood but what gets me even more juiced and hyped is the “Good Times” theme song. after hearing that its on an poppin

Me:
Lol “GOOD TIMES”? What’s your favorite lyric from the theme song?

Famous:
(singing in a high pitched voice) “hanging in the chow line”

Me:
So back to 80West radio, thanks for starting the show. How hhas the responce been?

Famous:
No problem. The inital responce has been pretty good. we have gotten alot of love from some great artist such as E-40, Big Omeezy, Bueno, Dezit Eaze, and J. Gib just to name a few. besides that Nikia an I have the pleasure to run into listeners and community involved people and they feel that we are doing something positive and giving Sacramento a chance of being heard…not to mention i love your support =)

Me:
Ever since the show have you seen sacramento become more unified?

Famous:
ive seen more of Sacramento artist supporting each other nad networking with one another so i do believe in the world of music we are moving in the right direction (done)

Me:
You guys have a thing called “sac’s finest’ on the show. Tell us a little bit about it plz

Famous:
Well Sac’s Finest is a spinoff from the Artist Spotlight…we want Sacramento to be on full blast with 80 West first because we believe there is great talent within our city…and since Sacramento is a gumbo pot city now thats why we entended our hand to all of Northern Cali to be in on the show…however this is the only place in the show where it is 100% Sacramento ONLY

Me:
There’s no other show like 80west. What is your favorite part of the show?

Famous:
hahaha why thank you….we put ALOT of work and thought into the show and if anyone listens to the show i hope they know that “Bless It Or Burn It” is my favorite part of the show

Me:
Yeah! Bless it and burn it has caused a lot of controversy and hurt feelings. Why do you think that is?

Famous:
you know what i dont really think that no one has had their feeling hurt or at least i hope not…the “Bless it Or Burn It” segment of the show is like the radio version of American Idol..off top anyone that has been put in that segment has been totally aware of it…it is NOT a make fun of you portion of the show…alot of “artist” feel that they are the next big thing and sometimes i dont agree with that…so rather than leaning onto my own opinions i ask the contestants if they feel comfortable with having the listener’s vote to bless it or burn it…several people have made it thru that segment with blessings such as T-Mazz, J Slick, Kendra De Anna, and most recently Tavia Jenkins…the only the only thing i can really say to people who happen to get their feelings hurt is 80 West Radio gave you a shot and expect to hear a 1,000 no’s before you hear a yes…an we encourage anyone who has had their record burned to hop back on that horse an keep pushing

Me:
Good point. But some people may think that the radio is what makes them. Do you think that’s true?

Famous:
I disagree radio dosent MAKE or BREAK you…having your music heard on radio is a blessing that could make something happend for you. i think people lost sight of what music is….music is made to tell a story, to inspire, and to make someone dance and feel good…now it seems as if people attempt to make music to get rich or have status

Me:
I feel it, how has being in radio influenced you? Has it opened you eyes to new things?

Famous:
Radio is a wonderful tool like i said a lil earlier i feel like im at school sometimes being here…ive always had personality, hahaha i was Famous before i joined with the Bomb but being here i have learned its now how radio can influence me but how can i influence radio…radio is like a relationship if im honest with you, tell you wonderful stories, and i can make u laugh i got you for life….but if im fake, dishonest, or a horrible speaker you’ll never listen. Ive always been good at heart and have wanted to do the best and i feel that i try to bring that to the airwaves or even when im out in public if most feel that i am a pretty straight up good guy =)
and as for my eyes being opened hahahaha i realized that there is alot of HARD work with working in radio but at the end of the day i wouldnt trade it for any other job

Me:
Who is your favorite guest you’ve had on air and why?

Famous:
E-40 hands down because growing thats who i listened to…c’mon u know E-40 is that guy…and everytime that ive meet 40 he has been the most humble non-ego having guy…not to mention dude knows my name and follows me on twitter hahahahaha and it was before he was on the show..so when we had the pleasure of opening up 80 West on radio he was the 1st guest and he stayed for the whole show…..mad love for the whole Sick Wit It fam

Me:
That’s what’s up! He seems fun and fun to be around. Okay I’ve been interviewing you for 4 hours! U a busy man! I’m going to let you get back to keeping the airwaves lit. Is there anything else you would like to say? Shoutouts?

FamousOnTheRadio:
also to anyone making music its ok to feel yourself…but if you want an honest feedback give it to someone you dont know
and always strive to be the best and do the best… and Nikia is one of the BEST people i have had the pleasure of working with (she really is the brains of the show) and with that said kisses to my ladies and dapps to my dawgs (ruff ruff) im out (done)

Me:
Lmao ruff ruff! Thanx famous!

FamousOnTheRadio:
all good

Balance -All In

September 18, 2009 at 7:15 pm (bay area, entertainment, interviews, music, nor cal) (, , , , , , , , , )

Photobucket

Everyone has their favorite music artists. Mine Jay-Z, Balance, Flossalini, Fabolous, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco and Eminem. Not many get to interview their favorite artists… I did and I’m hella excited about it.

Balance is known as the “Mixtape King” or the “Unsigned Legend” but to me he’s one of the dopest rappers out right now! He’s soooo humble, and pushes his music so hard! He has made his songs like “Gotta Get It”, “Grind”, “Can’t Go”, “We all in” and more. “Can’t Go” was #1 on KBMB, and has the best video in cali out directed by Prime Zero, great quality and concept!

In the interview Balance talks about “Can’t Go” and gives some learning tools that some of you rappers need to take notes on.

Enjoy!

Hey balance! Thank you for taking the time out to interview with me. You know this is big for me. How is everything on your side?
BALANCE: I’m good jus finished me and big rich album called “good as money”. you may have heard the first few singles from that album “cant go” “yayd out” “we all in””good as money” comes out oct. 20th. “cant go” has been getting alot of radio play throughtout northern california n rotation. so its a great feeling in rotation. so its a great feeling

me: “Can Go” is big out here in Sac and “We all in” is getting a great responce. “Can’t Go” was #1 on the countdown on the BOMB for a min. How did that feel?
balance: crazy cus when u make the music u jus hoping that u and ur folks like it. u never know if other people are gonna like it. but when it goes out into the world and other people luv it as much as u do its a unbeleivable feeling plus to be unsigned and have a number 1 song on a big station like kbmb is a huge success and shows that at the end of the day people wanna hear good music dont matter f u have a record label behind you or not

me: How did “Can’t Go” come about? Rumors is that its a true story… well atleast on your side… is there truth to that?
Balance: Traklordz made the beat gave it to jimmie reign. jimmie wrote and laid the hook. it had no rap on i yet. traklordz sent it to me. i whas going thru a bad relationship that would soon end in us breaking up. the hook instantly told me to write about what i whas going thru and i put the headphones on and it flowed out easy. fussin and fighting is all real, true story i think thas why people relate so much to the lyrics

CAN’T GO: BALANCE, BIG RICH, THE JACKA, JIMMIE REIGN
VIDEO BY: PRIME ZERO
PRODUCED BY: TRACK LORDZ

Wow! You are speaking some truth and real life experiances in the song. I know me and my girls relate to i so well. That has helped with the success of the song… I would say. Do you always try to put such persona experiences in songs?
balance: were not bragging about how big pimps we ar.e its about real life situations and how complex relationships are when ur addicted and dont wanna leave relationships, even tho u should. yeah i always try to put honest lyrics that the regular person can relate to music helps people thru bad times and good times so i feel each time i rap i gotta give the people sumthin even with the song “we all in.” I talk about my mom and me, tellin her “sorry but im tryin to make it in this game” i know u may want me to do sumthin else but this is what i love. thats real shit, true story slangin cds wit only my name on it, burned cds is true story

me: That’s some real shit! Who are some artists would you say that you’ve listened to that lyrics have helped you ge threw problems?
Balance: hmmmmmm outkast, drake, jay ,z ice cube, nwa, michael jackson, d’angelo too many to name

me: I am feeling that list. Who is your ultimate dream artits to work with? Anyone in the world?
balance: hmmmmm anyone in the world? ultimate song? balance feat. andre 3000, jay-z, drake over a dr. dre beat with michael jackson on the hook

me: Dammmmmnnnn!!! That would be dope! Speaking of Dr. Dre I heard that you are working on the detox with Dre… truth?
balance: my boy bishop lamont who dre dre signed to his label, hit me last November around time of thanksgiving and told me “come work on detox”. it was defenately a highlight of my career. i wrote sum of my dopest music. will it ever come out? who knows but jus the experience made me a better artist and thas where “cant go” and “we all in” and all the new stuff comes from me a better artist comes from

me: That’s wats up! You have to be very talented to get a opportunity like that! You solo album is coming out soon Please tell us about that..
balance: well i feel like i deserve to give my fans a treat before the end of the year. soooooooo ima release a 7 song balance EP for free download in december as a gift to all. A Balance EP is called “the exit” next year around march or april i will drop a full solo lp dont know the title yet tho

me: I’m excited about the solo albums. Will you be doing anymore mixtapes? anymore mixtapes?
balance: i dont know aout any more mix tapes. i may host a few. i did one early in the year with demolition men but as far as mixtapes all me by myself naw. Im more focused on making albums

On your twitter yesterday [9/15] you did some “independent artist tips” what prompted you to do so?
balance: lol! jus running into upcoming artist that are going at this game all wrong when i first started theyre was no one to tell us how to do it. i wish it was, i coulda not wasted time so i felt like giving sum game – i know theyre are alot of upcoming artists following me so i felt like sharing sum game i learned

me: What do you feel is the most inportant rule to always remember in trying to make it in the industry?
balance: invest in urself. and invest is more than money invest time, hard work dedication sacrifice practicei ts not as easy as u think. well its easy to not be good

me: Yeah it is easy not to be good! I’m sure you see it all the time considering where you work. Most people know. [I’m not gonna say due to the crazies] what is the funniest thing you’ve seen working there or what is the funniest thing a artist has done to try to impress you?
balance: i had a artist come to me and say he sold 100k units out the trunk of his car. lol and i never heard of him

me: Lmao! I’m so not gonna comment that. So hopefully your independent artist tips come in handy. I’m going to go ahead and end this interview. Is there anything else you would like to say? Shoutouts?
balance: id like to say thanks for interviewing me. to all my fans thanks for the support. look out for me and big rich cd “good as money” and my ep “the exit” follow me on twitter: balance510 hit me on myspace.com/balanceskillz thanks

me: Thank you balance
Balance: thanx

*there’s so much more I wanted to ask, but this interview was nerve-racking for me because he is one of my favorite rappers. So hopefully in the future I get to interview Balance again, and won’t be so nervous*

2009 MIXTAPE ARTIST OF THE YEAR: ROCCETT

September 15, 2009 at 10:27 pm (entertainment, free downloads, interviews, music, SoCal) (, , , , )

2009 MIXTAPE ARTIST OF THE YEAR: ROCCETT!

How many mixtapes would you say you see a quarter? Hundreds right? How many would you say are from the west coast? Hundreds… okay… how many are dope? How many do you slap on a regular basis? When you think of mixtapes you probably think of Demolition Men, Dj Fresh, or Balance… especially if you are from northern california. Well Roccett got some of the dopest mixtapes out. And has such a buzz goin on for himself he got named “Mixtape Artist of the Year.” He has pushes out some of the best mixtapes like “West in Full”, “I am Roccett” and his latest “Another Day, Another Dolla” with Dj Scream. I got the pleasure of interviewing Roccett. We discussed the west coast, Young Jeezy and much more.

Roccett is very humble, entusiastic and a hard worker! Always on his grind. Never letting minor things set him back. Like Fab says “The Grind is a terrible thing to waste” and Roccett stays GRINDIN.

What’s new going on with Roccett?
ROCCETT: Really just grinden, in the studio recording, city to city doing shows, making it happen. I got a few new projects I am working on, so getting them ready also

So you are from southern california. How in SoCal has influenced you?
ROCCETT: Yeah I am from Carson. My environment has influenced me because I make music about what I have lived or experienced. Who has influenced me? The Pac’s, Snoop, Cube, etc, but honestly Jay Z, Nas Outkast, etc have also influenced me.. I don’t just make music for the West Coast, I make my music for the world

I asked this in one of my previous interviews. They say the west coast is the west coast is dead. Do you believe that… and if so who do you think can bring it back?
ROCCET: Nah the West Coast isnt dead. We active.. I know Roccett is active, city to city, on the grind. There a lot of talent out here, we just city, on the grind. There a lot of talent out here, we just gotta push to get it on national spotlight. I am always gonna play my part and rep the west, so if that means im bringing it bacc about others or what others think.

I am from Sacramento, and I see a divison of artists and music all the time and music all the time in northern cali. Is it like that iin SoCal?…
ROCCETT: Yeah we got young artists out here in Southern California, we got a scene, a movement, whatever u wanna call it. I try and make movement, whatever u wanna call it. I try and make sure my movement expands outside of the state outside of the country to be real. But LA def got its artists like the Bay

Are there any artists from northern california that you would like to work with?
ROCCETT: Mistah Fab, Cell Ski, and Keak are the homies so I def work with them. Beyond that, E 40 and To Short cuz they Legends. Anyone with quality music, I am with it..

You are young! Born in 1983 just a year older than me. Do you get a lot of love from the older folks in the game?
ROCCETT: . Yeah I have been able to work with a lot of older artists or people that been in the game a while. I have worked with Akon, Jeezy, and most of the other top artists etc and I get respect, because they respect my grind and grind and my music

I know you get asked all the time what happened between you and Jeezy, do between you and Jeezy, do you wanna touch on that?…
ROCCETT: I just felt it was time too really just do me. My movement is Get Your Green Up. I felt Jeezy really wasn’t focused on being a CEO, putting out an artist, or following the formula too successfully break an artist As a As a man, I felt I couldn’t do the sidekicc homeboy thing, I really make music cuz I love to make music and I need too put my all into my career. I play to win and me and my team focused on winning

ROCCETT EPK “IAM ROCCETT”

When you make music who do you try to relate to? Everyone? Do you have a target audience?
ROCCETT: I make music from the heart, I talk about whats rea and I know others respect and can relate too whats and I know others respect and can relate too whats real. My audience is the world and everybody in it. I feel I make music that everyone can relate too, my music music is diverse, each time im in the studio I can do records that are different than the next day because my that are different than the next day because my emotions change on the daily. So if today I feel like talking about partying or women, that’s the type of record u will record u wil get, but if tommorrow I am going through a struggle, or I lose a homie, etc u will get a record that reflects those feelings

You just released the mixtape “Another day Another Dolla” with Dj Scream and was voted Mixtape Artist of the Year. What’s next for you?
ROCCETT: Yeah make sure u picc that up at http://www.itunes.com/roccett , a matter of fact picc up my entire catalog on itunes. I have another project about entire catalog on itunes. I have another project about to drop called THE FREE AGENT, its a project with DJ DRAMA. I am working on a EP, got a few more projects in the works after that. I am listening to records and trying to figure out my next single too records and trying to figure out my next single too shoot a video for. tre mak pointblank PERIOD!

September 10, 2009 at 5:23 pm (entertainment, free downloads, interviews, music, nor cal, sacramento) (, , , , , , , )

Photobucket

Tre Mak a sacramento native and I had a convo about YBK, Music for the MOB VOL2, DJ Quick and more. Tre mak is a very humble dude and works hard to get where he is at. But I had a few questions for him… no holding back he spoke his mind.

Me:
Hi tre mak! Thanx for taking the time out for this interview. How is everything goin on your side?
Tre Mak:
Goin real good for ya boy right now… just tryna stay active and relevant to the music scene in my city

Me:
“Music for the Mob vol 2” just dropped the other day [sept 1] tell me a little bit about it…
Tre Mak:
Music for the mobb is a lil mixtape series we got goin, where we give the fans free hella free music over the net. The homie bigg cain came up wit the concept, and after a successful vol.1, we felt it was time to give em the vol.2 and step it up a little bit because the people were really feeling it.

Me:
What is the single off “music for the mob” that you are trying to push?
Tre Mak:
Right now I aint gone lie the one I’m feelin the most is “Fall Back” feat. Myself and the homies Purp Reynolds and Ya Boy Yundee, that’s my one!

Me:
Who is on the cd?
Tre Mak:
We got The whole Point Blank muzic camp on there, as well as a few So cal artist that Bigg Cain been networkin wit.. Its a dope ass mixtape, hella variety, and it slaps from start to finish. Who else gone give you 20+ songs of free music like this!

Me:
You seem like you are for the people and the fans. How do you feel about the artists that aren’t?
Tre Mak:
Its all about the people… and the fans! Without them who are we all anyway. Artist that loose track of what this game is really about, that’s the ones that urk me the most. I was a fan 1st, so 9x outa 10 I look at myself from a fans perspective. These lame ass I’m the shit rappers need to realize humble is in!

Me:
Speaking of lame rappers, who is your favorite and least favorite?
Tre Mak:
That’s a tough one because I’m a fan of so many artist in the game, but if I have to choose one… I’d say T.I would be my fav. I think Jay-Z is the best hands down, but I’m ridin wit TIP his music relates more to my life. As far as least favorite, man I’m really hatin all these cats wit the new dance song every week… honestly I don’t no all the names, but its gettin played out. Bars wise tho, bow wow is at the bottom somewhere… him and mistah fab

Me:
Speaking of FAB, what happened there? Where did the problems begin?
Tre Mak:
Honestly he falls right into that un-humble rapper category that I despise so much. Even before we had our little spat on twitter…lol I felt his swag way over exceeds his talent. But the jist of the whole riff wit me and him is basically he feels I’m nobody and since he has more twitter love he’s better than me, yeah right. I’m humble but don’t let my humbleness fool u into thinkin ima teddy bear… lol so I had to lash him wit that “ybk”

Me:
I will be posting the link to “ybk”, I listened to it and you did your research, I must admit you did ya thang. What kind of responce did you get?
Tre Mak:
The response was crazy! at least from the fans perspective… 3,000 downloads in 24hrs made mistah fab change that tune up a lil bit tho, to the point where he said he won’t respond…lol shit I really aint trippin if he do or don’t, I just wanted to show him where I’m lyricaly at, and to let him no don’t let his previous success go to his head beacuse anybody can get it, don’t think it aint a cat somewhere that you never heard about that can bring it! There’s one in every city, and in this situation I just happened to be that guy

Me:
That guy huh? You are talked about a lot. All positive when spoken out to me. Positive enough to where DJ Quick signed you!! Please tell that story
Tre Mak:
Crazy story… basicaly, I was on the same grind all my sac peers been on, got to open up for Quik in Monterey, Ca. Everybody that’s on this independent grind like me knows that we do shows like that for exposure, but the hope in the back of out head is that maybe we catch the attention of the star that we open up for. Well that night I did… he dug what I was doin on the stage, we kicked it and when that night ended he told me he was dead set on gettin me to LA. I kinda heard stuff like that before so my hopes weren’t all the way up, but somethin that time felt a lil different… Man the next day he hit me, and said I need you down here tre, like today! Man I musta packed so fast…lol When I got out there it was hella luv him and G1 took me straight to the lab, and I was on point, they dug me in the booth, on the stage to the point where he said I want u on my team permanately… done deal. Hit he road, [I] toured wit him and kurupt, shits been crazy. I’m appreciating every minute of it

Me:
That’s dope! Everyone is proud of you! Are you still touring? Or you off?
Tre Mak:
Thank you, I know my true fam out here was proud to hear the news, I’m pushin and rootin for everybody as well. Sac got too much talent, to not be where we need to be. Right now been @ home enjoyin my home time wit friends and fam… I toured all of june and july, this lil break was cool. but I’m ready whenever quik give me that call, the road is the shit!

Me:
Tell us about of one of your most memerable moment while being on the road…
Tre Mak:
Man we had one the crazyiest baggin sessions or game of dozens ever! Lmao… Kurupt is hella funny, damn near coulda been a comedian

Me:
That’s what’s up! Where do you see sac music going in the future?
Tre Mak:
We super talented out here! I see us playing a major role in the westcoast rap scene in the very very nearĀ  future! LA and the bay better watch out…lol nah but we gone be right there in the mix of things when they talk about the coast.. I promise

Me:
People are trying to bring the west coast back. Do you think we ever left? And how do you think we can be brought back?
Tre Mak:
Honestly talent wise we never left, but as in being a major player in the hip hop world we kinda did. I mean game does his thang and so does snoop but as a whole we are behind. Like I said, we aint short on talent at all… so to “bring us back” we just gotta keep pushin. It will come full circle, our time will come again.
Albums like Blaqkout (shameless plug…lol) are a throwback to when we were dominant. If the new breed of mc’s we got out here take note of what the pioneers did to be successful, than we will be ok. If anything has held us back, its the out wit the old in wit the new mentality. We need the og’s to guide us and they need us to keep them fresh and up wit the changes of the times. Together we will bring the West Back!

Me:
Who are some of your fav artists from the west coast that you think can bring us back?
Tre Mak:
Kurupt is hella dope, I heard some of his new album and its crazy! E-40 still keeps the bay lit, but I think if Clyde Carson ever get to drop something he can definitely make some noise. I gotta put Yuk in the mix as well, I always been a fan of his.

Me:
